PLEASE REPLY ASAP D:
"My outdoor Cat has an E collar on for an abscess on his ear, they vet told me I had to keep him inside for 7 to 10 days. Not easy for a farm cat. He escaped (on the second day/today) outside with the collar freaking out. He is an older cat and does a lot of lounging when he is outside and not half crazed.
I just would like to know if I should expect to see him again or if he is a goner. I trust he would come home. But if the E collar or worse his poor abscess get ripped up or off from him being frantic he might never come back.
He is a talker and always replies to my calls (mommas boy) but I have not heard him cry. Which makes me all the more worried.
Please any advice or kind words will be appreciated.
Thank you

so sorry to hear you have lost touch with you cat. Usually they get that collar off in 10 seconds flat. Mine did. He must be terribly frightned. Keep putting food out for him in his usual place. Cats do usually come back to their food source. It sounds as though he is very angry with you at the moment. If you give him some time, he will probably come home especially if you have a bond with him. If he comes home try to restrain him in a room, if you must, use a travelling cage, with enough room for a litter tray food a drink and a place for him to strech out. How long must he keep the collar on for? When my boy pulled his off. We went back into the vets with him and had all of his nails cut very short. This was not ideal, but at least he couldnt rip his wound open.
I dislike those old fashion plastic collars. Some vets are now using inflatable rings, inflated just enough so the cat cant reach the wound. Well i hope that he comes home soon,I am sure he will, even if it takes some time.
