Our male cat got out last night and came home scratched up. Our female cat is now hissing at him and being mean, which is unusual, they usually always get along just fine. She also acts the same exact way after he comes home from the vet. Does anyone know why she would act this way after he has been outside of the house?

Your male cat comes home smelling of strange cats and other strange things. He doesn't smell like his usual self which is causing your female cat to react the way she does. Please have your male cat neutered. Once he's neutered he won't have the urge to get outside and fight with other cats. Cat fights between intact male cats can be serious. Deep wounds with abscesses are common when intact male cats fight.
