Your question is a little disjointed, but I gather that the pathology on Tuffy's ear showed she had a carcinoma. When my Golden Retriever was dying, the vet told me to keep everything as normal as possible for her. We dealt with "accidents" and clean-ups as quickly and quietly as possible. We kept in constant contact with our vet and some of our conversations about Mollie were a half hour or longer. Spoiling is OK. Weeping and wailing while she's alive isn't. She will pick up on your stress. My best advice is not to hesitate to rely on your vet for help and counselling. They've been through this before and can ease the situation for both of you. Purrs from all of us!
