Is your cat straining to urinate but can't? My previous male cat had FLUTD which is crystals in the urine that block the small opening and they can't pass their urine which can very quickly become a very bad situation. If you have a cover on the litter box take it off so you can observe. I never heard of this until it happened to my male cat and I had to rush him to the vet. IF your cat is not straining to go... then I'm not sure, but just watch closely in case it is the initial stages of this problem.
