my male cat takes his favoit toy and walks thru the house at night and meows and drags the toy with him it wakes me up a
i have talked to another cat owner and she has a cat that dose the same thing its a very sad meow and it makes us wonder if there is something we should do for our big babies thanks

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but my roommates cat will do that sometimes. it really freaked me out once cause she was yeowling with her mouse toy, when i called my roommate about it (she was out of town) she says she does that to let you know she's "killed a mousie" and to thank you and give her pets and say what a job well done and hide the mouse or move it away so she thinks it's gone.
could she be trying to get your attention to let you know she's done well?
Sassy does this too, once when she caught a real mouse and also with her toys. She marches around yowling as if to tell you how proud she is that she's caught a mouse. I've heard of other cats doing this too so I think its just normal cat behavior and nothing to worry about.
I have had 3 male cats who have done that over the years. All 3 of my male cats did it to relieve tension or anxiety and as a way of exerting their alpha status in the house. None of them did it all the time and it sometimes was because I had introduced a situation to the household, i,e. new cat, furniture, roommate, going away and coming home from a long weekend, to the household. It's pretty normal, but if you're really concerned, talk to your vet about it and they may prescribe medication. I think using Bach's Flower Remedy to calm your cat down may help too.

My Howie has one toy he does this with--a fuzzy snake looking thing. Normally, he's very quiet, but when he has this, he get's very loud. He will drop it on my feet and meow until I acknowledge what he brought me. I say thank you, and that he's a good boy, and give him love, and then he goes away, quiet and content.
He occasionally does the same thing at night, after all night time is hunting time. He will drop the snake next to my pillow, and then he'll wait there, meowing nervously, until I say something.
Your cat just wants some praise for having something for you or giving you a present. He may sound sad, but it's just a different vocalization. The best way to quiet him down is to acknowledge that you see him and his prize.
If it continues, talk to your vet about anxiety issues.
I agree with the other answers. It is just your cat "Hunting the mouse" and catching it. He wants you to know that he caught and "Killed" it.
My male does the same thing with his lime green ball. Carries it around yowling. We usually say, did you catch it TJ? then he either drops it, or takes it back somewhere.
It is nothing to be concerned about. They especially do it if they are indoors and can't actually hunt. They bring it to you as a gift.
