			<p>Yes, it can happen, although not necessarily. Other cats in the household can act hostile to Momcat or the kittens, partly because the kittens are unknown, partly out of jealousy that you are paying so much attention to them. Please keep your male away from Momcat and her kittens! Make sure there is always a door between him and the mom and kittens. Male cats have been known to kill kittens, for one thing. More of a worry is that Momcat might get anxious, and move her kittens or abandon them, or even kill and eat them. Or you might get a fight between the male and the mother, or the male might &quot;play&quot; roughly with the kittens. Sorry to sound like an alarmist, but these things do happen. If this is Momcat's first litter, she may be especially nervous. Also, kittens' immune systems are undeveloped for the first few months of their lives, and they should be kept away from cats other than their mother, especially if the other cats go outside. Keep them apart at least until weaning.<br /><br />
