My kittens do not seem to be drinking any water. I've got a fresh bowl for them but it remains full each day.

They do eat a mix of canned and dry food so maybe they are getting enough moisture from that. I've tried gently dipping their paws of chins in the water to encourage them to inspect and test the water but the just scamper off and shake theri feets. any suggestions to teach them to drink. or should I be concered at all?

Hmmm, I'd say start add something enticing to the water, like a few drops of KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement). That might entice them to drink from the bowl thinking it's milk?

Maybe the location of the bowl is the problem. Mom found that I don't like my water too near to my food, and they both have to be far enough from my litterbox, too. Experiment with having multiple water bowls out in various places. You'll find they might drink more from one bowl than from the other. That tells you where a good location for a permanent bowl is. Even when you do find that place, change it up every once in a while. Novelty does do wonders when it comes to getting cats to do what you want them to.

I have the same problem. I forget to drink water. Your meowmy should try what my meowmy does: puts small bowls and bottle caps filled with water in front of my face where ever I am. I find that approach interesting; therefore I drink the water. She also turns the bathroom faucet on just barely to get a constant drip going. I really like to play with the water drips. If I don't drink it, I always lick the water off of my paws and my tail.

Cats aren't real big drinkers anyway, but what works for us is having multiple water bowls through the house. I have dogs as well as Oscar and it helps to have more than one watering station. :D

hmm you could always try mixing milk with water that might make them drink it.

I would hardly drink any water until my mom got me a fountain. (yes, I know I'm spoiled but I don't care) I just love the CatIt water fountain. Whenever it is refilled I run over and drink from the dome.
