Your cat could have something lodged in her throat and if you try to get it out, you could push it down further. She could have a upper respiratory infection which is one of the leading causes of kitten death. Without having her examined by a vet in real time, there is no way we can tell you what's wrong. I've never heard of a vet turning away a sick cat. Vets will work with you on paying.
