Any time there is this huge of a change in behavior I would be very concerned about a health issue. Please call your vet. In the mean time, do your best to keep him calm and keep the environment quiet and non-threatening so if he has been harmed or frightened by someone he will feel safer. Please keep him indoors until you find out what is wrong with him. I am assuming he is not an indoor only cat if you are not sure who may have hurt him?
