My cat is blind in one eye and has started to get a greenish yellow discharge. Is this normal? Is there any medication?
Since the beginning, he's had clear-ish discharge but it's become more yellow and thick/sometimes a bit bloody and fills his eye quickly. His nictating membrane is always half shut but has gone from the usual colour to a bright red colour.
Is there something wrong? If so, I don't have the money for a vet, is there anything i can do without the cost of vets bills?.. Thanks. Siobhan.

Yes, something is definitely very wrong and your cat needs to see a vet ASAP! I know times are tough and that's not what you wanted to hear, but he needs to go to the vet. We are not vets here, and even if we were - no vet can diagnose or treat over the internet. Eye problems can be serious and need to be treated promptly. If you let things go, it can get worse, can be very painful (cats are good at hiding pain), and get more expensive and involved to treat. Please call your vet and see if they will work out a payment plan with you. Most vets will not want to turn away a sick animal. You can also apply for Care Credit www.carecredit.com You can also try asking your boss for an advance on your pay or a friend or relative for a loan. Good luck and hope you kitty feels better soon!
