I have a 6 or 7 year old cat named Tigger that has always been living with me since he was born. Recently, he has been having sores on the bottom of his chin and neck. He is also losing hair on his lower stomach area. He scratches his chin alot so i didn't know whether it was fleas or dry skin that made the sores develop. Also, recently, he has been drinking alot of water. any ideas to why he is having these problems?

it could also be something as simple as 'crawling dandruff' or feline mange. Either way I will agree with my fellows here and suggest you take Tigger to the vet.

Sassy is right, these are signs of diabetes. We are not vets though and it could be something else. If it is diabetes it's life threatning. He needs to go to the vet.

Drinking a lot of water can be a sign of dioabetes and could also explain the skin problems too. It may be something different but take him to a vet to get checked out as if it is diabetes he'll die without treatment.
