Do you have a petsitter coming in regularly while you are away? Is her litterbox being kept clean? If her litterbox isn't cleaned regularly, twice per day at a minimum in my opinion, she may not want to use it and therefore finds a clean place to go.

She should, of course, be examined by a vet to rule out a medical condition such as a urinary tract infection. But if the problem is determined to be behavioral, I would suggest you start with the condition of the litterbox and go from there.

You need to keep the litter box CLEAN! If you are going to be away from home for any period of time, you need to get a second litter box. I truly believe this will work. Also, you need to try to give kitty some more attention - even if it's 10 minutes each night before going to bed. Best of luck!
