My cat has just been diagnosed with "Mycoplasma Haemofelis"parasite, is very anemic, blood transfusion?
My cat's vet recommends a multiple blood transfusion to treat his extreme anemia due to this parasite, that he contracted from fleas, ticks or contact with another cat that has carried this parasite. I adopted him 3 months ago and I immediately put advantage on him. What does anyone know about this parasite???? I can not afford transfusions, any ideas???? He is on steroids and antibiotics.

Your vet has suggested this drastic treatment because you obviously have a very sick kitty. He must require more than just steroids or antibiotics to help him get through the worst stages of this disease. Ask if you can work out a payment plan with your vet. You can also contact the shelter you adopted him from and tell them that you adopted a kitty with this disease already on board from them. This is a contagious disease and they would probably appreciate being told. You can also ask for financial help from them.
Good luck and let us know how he does!
