Remember that we aren't vet here. Without seeing and knowing your cat and what the sore on his ear looks like, there is no way that, even if we were vets, we could diagnose and suggest treatment for him. If it looks red, it itches him and he's uncomfortable with it, your best bet is to take him to the doctor. Don't try to home treat it with anything or heaven forbid, try to squeeze it as you could do more damage than good.
