my cat has a brown stain coming out of her vagina. Is that a peroid?

Everytime she sits on something, she leaves a stain.

Cats don't have periods. Could she be pregnant? The brown fluid may be a sign of infection or actually be from her anal sacks. To be safe and certain as to what's going on, take her to the vet ASAP. And think about fixing your kitty.

You don't say if your kitty is spayed or not, but an intact kitty will not have periods. A spayed kitty has no uterus, Fallopian tubes, or ovaries, so certainly can't have periods. I assume that if she were pregnant, you would have noticed. A cat may have a discharge of bloody urine just before giving birth. However, I assume that is not the case with your kitty. Please take her to the vet ASAP.

Izadore (Izzie)

There is usually no obvious vaginal discharge or swelling of the genitals during estrus (called a "heat") in cats, as is seen in dogs, behavioral changes are the only obvious signs that your cat is in heat.

A cat in estrus carries her tail to one side, keeps her hindquarters elevated, exhibits "treading" movements of the hind legs, and seems unusually affectionate. She spends a good deal of time rolling on the floor and seems much more restless than usual. The cat's voice seems more piercing than usual and she may "call" for 1-2 days before she accepts the male.

The only way to find out what's going on with your cat, as the other posters have said, is to take her to a vet. She could have a bad infection that won't clear up w/o treatment. If you're strapped for money, maybe you could ask for a family member to pay for her vet visit as a Holiday gift?
