My 9-month old male cat got bit last night, on his back about 2" before his tail starts. He has slept most of the day an

he has not eaten, drink, or peed. He has no other marks on him from the fight. Im worried his kidneys are damaged. He has has all his shots and was neutered last summer.

Your cat needs to go to a vet now! Get off the computer and find a 24 hour emergency clinic. Cat bites are very serious. He probably has an infection and abscess and possibly other damage from the bite and fight. He needs immediate veterinary care. Get to the vet now!

Former poster is absolutely right! GET YOUR CAT TO A VET NOW! Regardless of whether or not your cat is neutered and has had all his shots, no vaccine is 100% effective or guaranteed. Your cat needs to be treated by a veterinarian. His wounds need to be evaluated and treated and he needs to be put on antibiotics. He also will most likely be given another rabies vaccine. Take him now and get him some help. I wish you and your cat all the best!!

The other posters are right. Even if we were veterinary professionals here, we can't find out what's wrong with your kitty through a computer. He could have spinal cord damage, an infection, etc. I know of no vet who would refuse to treat a sick or injured cat because the owner is having financial difficulties. Please take your kitty to a vet and help him out. He's probably in pain. Just because "he has no marks on him" doesn't mean he doesn't have internal injuries that you can't see. Good luck. Hope Kitty is OK soon.

Everyone's right. This is an emergency situation. I hope that you've gone to the vet already, and if you haven't, go NOW, even if it means an ER. Not eating, drinking, or peeing means your cat is seriously sick. Let a doctor figure out what's wrong and give the proper treatment. I'm assuming that you mean your cat got bitten in a cat fight. Cat bites are nasty. They are puncture wounds and contain extremely dangerous bacteria. Every time I've been bitten by a cat, I (the human) have immediately developed a serious infection (swelling, redness, fever, malaise) that required an ER visit and a series of antibiotic IVs. As other posters noted, there may be other injuries aside from the bite. Good luck and purrs.
