Tinkerbell & Jellybean

My 6 month old kitten has this almost weird behavior when it comes to heights....

Tinkerbell loves being in trees and on the roof but when it comes to coming down she is terrified and cries for me to come rescue her but when i do she goes right back up to the same spot a day or two later and cries again i have recently stopped helping her down but not sure thats a great idea either i really dont mind her being up in the trees and on the roof but if she goes to high then i get worried and im not sure if my neighbors will like a crying cat in the trees all day they haven't said anything about it and i dont want them to because i have no control over where my cat can go i dont punish tink tink for worrying me because its not her fault im so worried about her but how can i get her to stop her from being so afraid to come down??? if i can at all

Ernie used to do the same thing. My son always maintained that if a cat can figure out how to get up someplace, it can also figure out how to get down. Tinkerbell is young yet. If you have other cats who also climb trees, she may learn from them. I don't think, as long as you let her out, you're going to be able to stop her from climbing. Instead of helping her down, stand at the bottom of the tree or building with her favorite treats and coax her to figure it out by herself. Of course be ready to catch her (and watch out for those claws! They come down with their claws out!) but encourage her to come down on her own.
