My 18 year old male cat has sores on his lower back and they are oozing a discharge. What can it be? He has been declawed and does not go outside and is too fat to bite himself.

There can be fleas in the carpet, a fungus or even a plain old infection that he rubbed and scratched. This is not normal and you need to bring him in to the vet now! Just because he is old does not mean that he does not deserve proper medical attention!! ^_^ Meow to the world...
