My 10 year old cat is peeing out of the box, and today I found terdies in the living room. I don't know what's wrong?

I have 2 cats. Roxxy is 10 and Phineas is 1. They don't get along. Phineas is very mean to her and dominates everything. There isn't much I can do about it because I'm gone 8 hours a day. I have two litter boxes. When Phineas was little and I had them separated, he had his own box. I still have this box. Roxxy has always had her own box. But since Phineas is now older, he has his box, which he uses and he has her box, which he also uses. Roxxy, when she uses it, only uses her box. I have various issues when it comes to Phineas and Roxxy, but the most pressing right now, is that Roxxy keeps peeing outside of her litter box. I have plastic runners underneath her box so that I don't ruin the carpet, but i have to clean up her pee on a daily basis, and then today I found 2 terdies in the living room. I don't know if it is Phineas making her nervous to pee in the box, or it something else and i don't know what to do.

It sounds like Roxxy's life isn't much fun, honestly. She's left alone all day with this youngster who tortures the heck out of her with no consequences. You can try to keep the boxes in separate rooms, or even try covered boxes. To find out who's pooping, shave a red crayon into one's bowl and a green in the other. It won't hurt them but will pass through and whatever color crayon shavings are in the poop, that's who's doing it. When you're gone, I might be tempted to separate the cats. You need to advocate for Roxxy when you're home and don't let Phineas torment her. Don't get physical or loud with him, but when you see him "being mean" to Roxxy, remove him from the room and put him in a separate room for a "time out". Tell him "Leave her!" and then do it. You are, in a sense, the mama cat and Roxxy is counting on you to run interference for her. Phineas is still a kitten and he needs to learn the rules.
