The best idea we can offer you is to take Max back to the vet's and tell them he's losing weight and now has begun vomiting and you can't figure out why. It's obvious he needs more tests to find out why he's losing weight. Observe his eating patterns, and if you think he's getting into the hay box, work out something where he won't be able to. If he's ingesting hay, it may have caused a blockage. The only one who can tell for certain what's wrong with Max is his vet with a hands-on exam.

Max

Izzie is right, you need to take Max back to the vet. Also, lock up the bunnies hay box somehow, this way he can't get into it anymore.

Xena

Did the vet check his thyroid level? Weight loss and vocalising are classic signs of hyperthyroidism. It isn't included in the standard blood test they usually do and because he is young they may not have added it on. Call up the vets to find out and when you take him back tot he vets get them to check his thyroid if they didn't already. If he has got high thyroid he can be treated with meds (pills or a gel to rub inside his ear) or radioactive I131 treatment.

The other possible cause that you didn't mention is worms so if the vet didn't worm him you should ask about that too. If he goes outside and catches mice etc he'll almost certainly have picked up works from his prey. But even if he is an indoor cat he could have picked up worms from a flea.

Lastly make sure he's eating his food and hasn't gone off it. Xena lost weight a few years ago and after loads of tests I discovered she wasn't eating as much of her new food

Hope he's OK and you figure out what's going on.
