Is there any risks to human health when using cat litters that contain sodium bentonite?
I been having acute coughing. No over the counter coughing medicine seems to help me.

Sodium bentonite is clay litter. If the litter is extremely dusty or highly scented and you are sensitive to it or allergic to the dust, it may cause breathing or congestion problems for you. If it is very dusty, it is not all that great for your cat to be breathing it in either. For clay litters, I find Tidy Cats scoopable to be the least dusty (although Fresh Step is better for odors and clumping, it's very dusty) But if you are having issues, you should switch to a natural litter like the corn based litter 'The World's Best Cat Litter' (awesome but expensive) or a pine product like 'Feline Pine'.
