It's fine to offer tuna once in a while as a treat, but not on a regular basis. Tuna is high in contaminants (even humans are advised against eating it too often) and low in taurine, an essential amino acid for cats. Many feline nutritionists also strongly recommend staying away from fish flavors of canned cat food for the same reasons.

We cats get water packed Albacore every two weeks on Sunday as a special treat from our regular diet and we love it. Then we go breath on mommy!

As an occasional treat, canned tuna in water is okay but it is not recommended on a regular basis. The tuna is meant for human consumption and contains ingredients that may possibly be detrimental to your cat if feed long term, on a regular basis. Given now and then is okay and the cats love it!
