I have two cats that I inherited from my mom, 3 yrs old, one or both will urinate in the heater vents, on clothes, box,

both are neutered..

Purchase a black light to determine where they are peeing... it might be more or less than you think. They are probably unhappy with the environmental change, and/or missing her. Purchase toys, treats, climbing posts etc. to make them feel more at home and less likely to act out by spraying. It is more common for males to do this, especially if they smell other animals or are confined to a smaller area than they are used to. ^_^
