When a cat has kittens, it's entire personality can change. She can become so protective and defensive of her babies that she will kill and eat them, thinking she is protecting them. Your two cats, no matter how friendly they were toward each other previously, need to be kept separate until the kittens are weaned and on their own. In addition, the female may come into heat again soon and if she mates with the male, she will become pregnant again. Please consider having both your cats desexed and I can almost guarantee you that their friendship with each other will be restored.
