I have a ragdoll that is 11 months old. He has been shedding a lot. Is this normal? Any suggestions??

Ragdolls have a low maintenence coat but they do shed. Is it warm wherever you are? All cats will begin to shed more as Spring approaches but Ragdolls are not particularly high shedding cats. If it is winter where you are, I would be concerned about nutrition or an illness being the cause of excess shedding. Especially if it seems to be in patches or causes any bald areas. I would consult your vet about it but in the mean time, regular brushing will help keep it under control. Ragdolls should not need a lot of brushing normally though.
