I have an almost 10 year old cat. I have taken him to the vet after noticing that he had a painful swollen belly and had difficulty walking.(he has been like this for about 10 days now) The vet gave him a urine test which came back ok (hes had history of crystals so she wanted to rule that out. After not improving we ran a full blood count which also showed fairly normal results. The vet then thought it could be a furball so decided to give him laxatives for pets and an XRAY. The XRAY showed a fairly large mass which was pushing against his stomach and kidney. She suggested it could have been a tumour or perhaps some internal bleeding and reccommended that he see a vet specialist to do an ultrasound. He is still urinating but thats it. He is also eating small amounts of
BBQ chicken as reccomended by the vet. Any thoughts? I have spent a fair bit of money so far rrying to figure this out and really cant spare another $500 for an ultrasound

I read an article recently about a woman who took her cat to the vet with a firm tummy. The vet brushed it off with a poor diagnosis, whatever. Anyways, the cat ended up throwing up a plastic bag. Hopefully your problem ends up a crazy story like that, good luck!
