Broken jaws do often heal on their own as long as the break isn't too severe. If you aren't comfortable with the diagnosis and treatment plan take your xrays to another vet! They may make you feel more at ease :o)

If your cat can't open its mouth or eat/drink properly take it back to the vet for a second opinion as something may have changed or it healed differently than they expected. Since they already saw your cat before they should treat this as a recheck at a lower cost.
