Quincy is right in everything he says. I've trapped cats many time like this. Just one suggestion--don't leave the trap (called a "have-a-heart" or a "drop-trap") in the open. Put it up against the house, under a bush, etc. Kitty is obviously freaked out and won't come near the trap unless she feels safe. You could also spend just a few hours at your old house, leave the door open, etc. (Take a book if there's no cleaning to do) and Kitty might just walk in when she hears familiar voices or sounds in the house. This happened with me when my Ernie was gone for three days--he came back in with the dogs one morning. Wow, was I surprised! Quincy gave good advice. This is the best way to trap a cat. Don't forget to check the trap at least once a day. I hope you get your cat.

Is she eating the food you are leaving?? If so, you need to either purchase a humane trap from the store or borrow one from your local humane society or animal rescue. Put this down where you are feeding her and put some stinky food inside (think tuna or fish) and cover the whole trap with a large towel or blanket that smells like your house. Of course you need to take up the food outside the trap. Since she is still hanging around the house, she should go in the trap when she gets hungry. Good Luck!!
