They don't eat a ton, but should eat often. I would make sure that your kitten has fresh food and water available. Most kittens are starting to eat solid/wet foods at this point as they are being weaned. If they aren't weaned yet, a 5 week old kitten would eat about 130ml of kitten formula a day (but split it up into 3 or 4 feedings). I would recommends KMR kitten formula. If you are working on weaning they have a product called Second Step which is like a kitten baby cereal. You can purchase it at Petsmart and Petcos or other pet supply stores. You can also try to mix some wet cat food with a little formula to make a gruel. Let them eat as much as they want- but watch them carefully. If a kitten isn't showing interest in eating you may need to bottle feed for a while or take them to the vet to make sure nothing is wrong.

When we fostered kittens for the five weeks we would mix wet food with their dry kitten food. Just one kitten? Offer food regualry. About every 2-3 hours. It will eat until he/she is full. Be careful though. If you have more than one you may need to feed seperately to ensure everyone is getting their fill.
