How can I make my cat stop meowing really loud in the middle of the night when all of us are in bed?

My other cat, Loki, he has a really loud meow when he meows, but everynight, when all of us are sleeping, about 2 AM, he just starts meowing like a dog howling in the middle of the night. It wakes all of us up and we're not in a happy mood.

How can I make him stop meowing in the middle of the night?

Cats are nocturnal creatures and are most active at night. However, there are a number of things that can be upsetting Loki. He could have a medical condtion that's making him meow if he's uncomfortable. If he hasn't been to the vet's recently, you might want to take him just to make sure he's healthy. Secondly, there could be a stray cat or another animal in your yard that he sees or hears. Thirdly, he could simply be lonely. Can he sleep with anyone? Can you put a bed in someone's room? He has an issue with something. He's not doing it just to annoy you. He needs you to understand what's bothering him and try to do something about it. With a little research on your part, you should be able to figure out what it is.
