How can I keep my adult cats and my kittens eating there own food?

I leave the food down all day so they can eat when they are hungry. But sense my Husband and I have gotten two kittens they want to eat each others food.

While the kittens are young they can only jump so high, so you may be able to keep the adult cat food out of their reach in a high place for awhile, providing you have no overweight or senior adult cats with mobility problems; but the only surefire way to keep the adult cats from porking up on the high-calorie kitten food is to feed the kittens at set feeding times. Most do well with 2 or 3 set mealtimes per day and it can be good because it allows you to more carefully monitor their food intake while they are going in and out of big growth spurts.

My mom had a similar problem when we adopted my sister, Flopsie. She tried and tried to find an answer, and then ended up inventing something to solve the problem. It worked so well that all of my mom's friends who had the same problem wanted one, too, and soon my mom had made one for all of them.

Now it is available to buy online, but you can also make it yourself if you are handy. To see what it looks like, google meowspace, and you'll see links to my site. Good luck with your new kitties!
