We have two little boys and they are very affectionate! We play with them and hold them a lot too, which probably has something to do with it. :)

When you decide to adopt a kitten, go to You can find shelters and rescues in your area. When you visit the shelter, be honest about your family, how you live, how much time you will have to give the cat, etc. These people know their cats and can suggest some that will fit in with your family and lifestyle. Be aware that when you adopt a kitten, you need to have it spayed or neutered ("fixed") and take it to the vet at least once a year or when it's not feeling well. You need to learn how to take care of a kitten because they are babies. What they learn and how they learn how to act will stay with them all their lives, so you want them to learn how to be a good member of your family. You must have a lot of patience and kindness with the kitten, not tease it and teach it that biting and clawing are not OK. If you show the kitten love and kindness and affection it will do the same for you.
