I just wanted to share some information about the need for a wet diet to help prevent blockages and urinary problems. One of the problems with dry food (certainy not the only problem) is lack of moisture. I don't know if your feeding wet or dry, but wet is much better. Diet isn't the only contributor, but it one that has been shown,
You don't necessarily need a "prescription" diet, just a (preferably grain-free) quality wet diet, imo.

Here are a few links, with plently of studies to indicate the need for a wet diet with cats prone to blockages (and just for overall health).
Just wanted to share :)

You can purchase your Hill's prescription food online at Petfooddirect.com if you want to avoid the switch. They will just need to call your vet for the presciption but during the checkout process, there is a step where you can fill in your vet's info. You can even put it on autodelivery which I think lowers the price a bit and then you won't have to worry about running out.
