Harley

Harley was adopted by our neigbors and then we re-adopted him. I'm trying to narrow down the type or breed cat he is.

It's hard beacause he's completely an orange cream color, but yet has a cute little pom pom bob tail. I have yet to find any pictures online of similar cats or even remotely close....

Harley appears to be Domestic Medium or Long Hair without the specific characteristics of any one breed. They often don't even look like either of their parents. But he's a very handsome mix! The bobbed tail may either mean he has some of a bob tail breed in him or else he could have met with some unfortunate accident or cruelty and lost his tail. I was just reading somebody's page who has a Maine Coon without a tail because his previous owner cut it off. And there is a Siamese in a local shelter who's owner wanted her to have ears like a Scottish Fold and cut them.

Gorgeous kitty! I want him! Seriously, regarding the short tail...he's no specific breed, but I wonder about the incidence of short tails on American cats. Short tails are not uncommon in Japan (although most cats have regular length tails), but when I lived in the States, I never met up with a bobtailed cat. Genetic anomaly? Result of an accident? Manx in his gene soup? I'd say it's a mystery, but what a beautiful cat!!!
