Girlfriends 15 yr old cat real lathagic not meowing hanging its head eating little. Just switched its litter2 new type.

maybe it is allergic to something in the new litter... try changing back. I have had a cat allergic to the high dust levels in some litters. If you switched to feline pine, pine is something often toxic to cats.

Sorry, this is more serious than just switching cat litter. Please get your cat to a vet ASAP. A cat does not become lethargic and hang its head down due to a change in cat litter!

possibly Kidney failure. My cat acted like that. He also lapped air above the water bowl. It's a sign of a crash, and he probably need to be on IV fluid or get subQ fluid right away. :(
