Doo-doo nuggets on furry cats (hope this language is suitable for 7 year olds)

I saw a recent post on Maine Coons, with their extra furry "britches" in the back, getting, er, doo-doo nuggets stuck in the fur, and the problems of getting them out. The question was closed, but I wanted to put in my own "nugget" of wisdom (?). Fastidious girl though I am, sometimes you just can't help but get those things stuck in your britches or your Maine Coon plume-tail. Fortunately, my slave-human works a lot at home, and is usually able to solve the problem soon after it occurs (method--pick off what you can with a tissue, comb out the rest with a fine-toothed metal comb--which you wash afterwards!--and let the cat do the rest of the cleaning work). But my human suggested that, from pictures she's seen the Maine Coons (kisses to all!) on Catster, some don't seem to be getting a regular grooming. Doo-doo nuggets are PROBABLY easier to remove if the hair around that area is kept combed (and, occasionally, shampooed), rather than allowed to mat up. Just a thought.
