does a cat find a secluded spot if he is going to die ?

He has lost weight,bone mass,energy,but his appettite is good and he drinks alot of water,but urinates alot.It will be costly to have blood work done.He is around 15 years old,what should I do?

Your kitty is probably in kidney failure. The blood work to test for this is not that costly but it may also be thyroid related or diabetes. Maybe one or more of these. At fifteen I would just let him be - especially if he's eating well. When he stops eating or has uncontrollable urinating outside the litter box you will know what you need to do. Seems he's had a good long life and you have been a good mommy.

I'm very sorry to tell you, but yes. My 16 year old cat went into kidney failure, and she found a corner in our living room, where she stayed every day. She had blood in her urine, and had an appetite. We ended up putting her down.
