Is she eating the bread? My first thought is that she might not be getting enough to eat. At the feline hospital I worked at, we had clients come in with similar problems. When we discovered what they were feeding their cats, we realized that the animals were being severely underfed without the owners realizing so. They honestly thought they were feeding their cats enough but in reality were feeding 1/4 of what an animal that size and age should be receiving. Basically, the cats were so hungry they were resorting to stealing whatever food they had access to. Do you leave food out for Dixie and the others? Is it possible that the others steal her food when you are not watching? If she is consuming the food that she breaks into, I would take a closer look at how much of her own food she is getting on a daily basis.

Keep the counter clean so you can lay down some cheap tin pans with water. When she jumps up there she will land in it. The water coupled with the noise should startle her enough that her visits to the counter will become less frequent. It may make a big water mess but it's better than broken dishes and ruined food.

There is a spray in PetCo that you spray on to a piece of fabric and that is supposed to deter cats - it smells like citrus - cats don't like the smell of citrus - try one of those citrus scented cleaners on the counter and see if that helps.

I've heard of something called a "scatmat" which uses static electricity to discourage cats from getting on counters, etc. You could google them. I don't think she's getting up there because she's hungry or wants to break your dishes or eat your food. I think she's just being an inquisitive kitty, just like my Izzie. He will, if the opportunity presents itself, steal the deli turkey off my sandwich, but that's not his original reason for getting on the counter. He just wants to be up high to survey his Izziedom. That's what most cats want.

Another trick is to put a pyramid of empty cans or even plastic cups where she might jump up on the counter. When she scatters the pyramid it makes a clatter and scares Dixie! Moving her favorite kitty tower nearby would encourage her to give that a try and not that noisy counter.
