Best things to feed starved cat? And how much, how fast

I found my way home over 1 yr after I went missing. Mom took me to vet & I am less than 1/2 my weight now, plus my nails are way over grown & very thick. I also have a URI & have meds. Momma thinks someone had me locked up somewhere starving me since I couldn't wear my claws down. I won't eat the meat baby food, hate the pedialyte but I have eat a little dry food, couple soft treats and 2 vienna today. I also peed but Mom couldn't see how much cause it was outside.

What else can mom tempt me with and how fast? Anything special to help me recover my weight? I'm 8 now and lost a couple lower front incisors while missing.

Help my mom save me. She raised me from a literal still wet new born 2.1 oz runt.

What about the supplement milk stuff they have in stores for baby kittens mixed with dry food? Maybe even warm the milk a little so the smell is a little stronger to attract your baby.

Try MaxCat kitten food cans to help put on weight until he is back to normal. Kitten food has more protein and fat that regular cat food, so go for it (temporarily). I'm glad you were reunited! ^_^

Oh my! Please keep us updated on your progress!

1st things 1st.. if your cat is having a problem with eating & gaining weight. Just give your vet or multiple vets a call, and ask them for their advice. Whenever I am in doubt, I call my vet!

As someone said before.. I would put your cat on a kitten formula to get more protein into your cats system. Personally, I believe 100% in Wellness CORE's kitten products. Wellness CORE is a grain free, gluten free, and has high quality protein sources.

I would feed your cat three small meals a day with a scoop of warmed up dry food (15/20secs - to make wet food more appealing) and sprinkle some dry food over it. If he still is not eating full meals.. I would make yourself a chicken or turkey dinner, & feed him shredded meat and slowly incorporate the shredded meat into his full meals that I was talking about.

Like I said before.. give your vet a call and try Wellness CORE wet and try kitten food!
