Anybody know what kind of kitty this is??
We adopted this beauty almost a year ago (he is now 1 year old). People that see him have all kinds of reactions: "Oh, you have a Maine Coon??" or "Is that a Norwegian Forrest Cat!?" or, mostly vets say, "Nope. This is a Domestic Long Hair" (whatever that means).
Pictures of him can be seen here: donpianothecat.wordpress.com

Most cats are not breeds, but mixes. Breeds are created by people with cats, not necessarily nature. For example, in the pic you have a domestic short hair tuxedo, and if you step into a shelter you'll see the color combo is expremely popular. I do not see anything with long hair in the first few frames, so your vet is correct, it's probably a mix with longer hair. Note that rescues state that certain animals are "breeds" to make them adoptable or by look, when no testing has been done and they are just trying to find a good home for the animal. ^_^
