All animals, even we humans, shed our "fur" or hair. There is a breed called a Sphynx that is basically hairless. It does have a fine downy fur, but when you look at it, it does look hairless. There is also the Cornish Rex and the Devon Rex who have curly, fine fur and may not shed as much as other breeds. I'd like to caution you that if you or anyone who will come in contact with a cat you are thinking of purchasing is allergic, it's the dander that causes the allergic reaction and not the fur. There is no such thing as a truly hypo=allergenic cat. I would suggest asking a breeder if you can "borrow" a cat for a day to see if there is any allergic reaction before purchasing and potentially needing to rehome the cat which is traumatic for everyone. If you are simply averse to having fur or hair in your home, be aware that animals can be messy beyond shedding and require clean-ups of many different kinds. If you are squeamish about caring for an animal, perhaps a fish would be better.
