8 week old kitten won't eat or drink and sleeps all the time? Negative for leukemia?

I'm fostering 4 8-week-old kittens. One is sleeping all the time and he won't eat or drink. We took him to the animal ER and he doesn't have a fever, his stomach is soft, but he's still lethargic and they had to feed him through a syringe. He's had testing for feline leukemia and he doesn't have it and his brothers are perfectly fine. Any ideas? I'm really worried. :[

I'm so sorry that your little one is in distress. A kitten this small won't last long without hydration. Their blood sugar plummets and the outcome is not good. Because you have the other kittens to care for, perhaps you should bring this baby to a vet for 24hr. care there. If you are fostering for an organization, check with their Executive Director to see how to handle this. If you are fostering on your own, contact a rescue and share with them what you're going through. In the meantime, get some KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement) at a pet store and try with an eyedropper to feed him. You can also make a very thin gruel out of wet kitten food (mixed with chicken broth) and try to feed him from your fingers. Good luck and God bless the little one.
