Here at Catster we want to be as transparent and forthcoming with information about the sites as possible and the plain truth is that, for our non-Plus members, advertising is what pays for Catster to stay in existence. With over 10 million page serves each month, close to a million stored pet photos and 300,000 unique monthly visitors, keeping Catster purring is not cheap! Ads within your pet pages can be removed by subscribing to CatsterPlus (more info below).

Simply put, advertising pays to keep Catster free

We understand a lot of people aren't that fond of advertising, but let's try and look at it another way - the advertising on this site pays for much of what we all love and treasure about Catster.

Tens of thousands of dog and cat lovers now have a place to share photos, exchange information, support each other in good times and bad and, most importantly, have a home on the internet that is just as passionate as they are about our furry-friends!
Almost everything on the sites is 100% free and will remain that way. Pet pages, Feline Friends, corrals, diaries, forums, private messaging, treats, personality matrix, holiday strolls, World's Coolest Dog & Cat Show, Ask a Vet, photo tagging & search, etc., etc. etc. They are all free, all the time.
Thousands of doggies and kitties have been rescued through these sites.
Charities, animal rescue groups and other animal support organizations have been able to spread the word about their work and increase awareness.
